Cause they sure as heck going to need them! Why with all that looting and all tat! and you all know what tat is!.
But seriosly how else can move thousands of people in one swoop but to have a unit train of 50 foot boxcars pull up there and pull them out.
I think I’d rather swim and walk. Unventilated, non air-conditioned, 50 foot box cars packed with people and lacking any type of restroom facilities? You’re quite the humanitarian.
Looters are running rampant.Rescue helicopters are getting shot at[:(!].It seems some of those boxcars could be put to good use!
Oh no, those boxcars are back to haunt us on the forums
OH THE HUMANITY!
I’m not sure if boxcars are the proper equitment…perhaps some old passenger cars with the shackles. It’s a real shame people are taking advantage of the situation![:(!][V][}:)][:(][][tdn][censored]
LOL!
my fellow sickos.[:D]
Kurt
Wait, AntiGates has those new AutoMax type shackle cars. I think they could be put to good use on the looters of the TV’s, Nikes and all the worthless crap they can’t use.
Now we should send some Superliners for the stranded and hurt.
Shackle Cars for Looters I say!!! 40’ Youngston 8 foot door cars with friction trucks in need of oil rags.
given the misery and destruction happening there, thus topic is in
TERRIBLE TASTE
[xx(][:(!][V][}:)][|(][tdn]
To quote a real old commercial on TV.
Trains don`t want peoplr with good taste…
Trains wants people who taste good
Lighten Up…/sheesh/

Somehow I think that if you had family, or freinds affected by this catastrophy you wouldnt be saying “Lighten Up” from the safe confines of your still intact home…
Your lack of feelings for others who have lost everything astounds me,
Get serious, Buddy!
I think most of us here are talking about the shackle cars are meaning for the slime ball looters, and for them I have no good taste or compassion or anything that resembles humanity.
Also can we still laugh, and have fun even with a distater going on? Or am I supposed to feel depressed and gloomy until this is all fixed. If so I may die depressed.
Whatever, its your consciensce
Vic, I think it was a semi serious suggestion to help the police to deal with the looters. They have no jail space. I actually saw, on TV yesterday, a bunch of prisoners sitting on an elevated section of road in their orange coveralls, chained together, with armed guards standing near by. Kind of weird.
We’ll be lucky if they don’t claim that their civil rights weren’t violated.
I think that today’s turn of policy is rather cold. The focus should be on the living, not the looting. Just don’t rescue the looters and starve them out.
Its still in Bad Taste. but whatever, not everyone likes Rob Schnieder either so…
The trouble is that they are shooting at the rescue workers who then flee leaving behind the people to be preyed on by the looters, I’m surprised there havent been “Shoot to Kill” orders issued against looters yet. That will likely happen tommorow.
Very sad and scary how little it takes before the inmates start burning down the asylum. I’m going to be stocking an earthquake survival kit now as I can see FEMA being of little help for the first 4 to 5 days after a big one, one of the items is going to be a 12ga.
I am suprised we don’t see city blocks burning. I think the Miss. Govenor made some statement on the Today show about looters, not about shooting them, but something along the lines of they won’t tolorate them. Once they get a handle on the survivors, I think we will then see a push of action on the looters.
We all need to really watch how all this plays out, how things are handle, how people in these situations react, good or bad. Next time it may be our town. I for one want to be better prepared.
Sorry for the “Gallows Humour”.
I did live in NOLA 1980/1986 building a Cheveron Refinery in Belle Chase.
This type of humour helps we Humans cope with that *** we call Mother Nature.
Kurt
When they get airlifted out, they wont be able to take that crap with them enless they wear it! [:p]
Disaster always spawns humor, whether in good taste or not. As for the people who are looting, its hard to blame the ones getting food for their families, but some are just plain thugs, especially the ones with weapons with bad intentions. Forget the shackle boxcars, get the good people out and let them stay to rot.
Does anyone see this looting and shooting thing almost like Escape from New York or other movies in the same vein? I wonder if these ones shooting at relief and the NG are somehow thinking that they are now in control and the “new” government of NO??
Maybe the problem is they are getting too much sugar, breaking into vending machines for “food and water”.
I can’t stand Rob Schneider. Bill Mahr and Dennis Miller are more to my liking.
This is a really unusual situation, where an entire city needs to be evacuated. I don’t think it has ever happened before in the history of this country.
The criminal element existed before the flood, but now they are more concentrated, as the so many of decent people have left. The cops are at a severe disadvantage now. When the flood water is gone, law should return.
