I’m building a 2-4-4-2 and could never find drivers the corect size I wanted. To make a story short I’m using HO drivers off an english 4-6-0. and the wheels off the sars for the tender. If it dosent stay on the track I’ll weld some thin plates to the inside. Thoughts, comments, etc.
Started with the timly fall of the loco [}:)] led to its disambly and the requisition of the drivers. This may end up being a 2-6-6-2 afterall. I think I’ll go down to a 2" boiler insted of the three. Off to find another hogwarts set to finish this off. Still would like commets, advice, etc.
really think you may have trouble keeping it on the track. personally i would go for a powered tender and use regular wagon wheels for drivers adding fixings for side rods.
hope it does work but it sounds potentially troublesome
I’ve already solved some of those problems, seeing that its an inside frame loco and the wheels are all but blocked from view I am planning to weld washers to the backs of the wheels then bore out the centers to take a longer axle. I just need another Harry Potter HO starter set and I’ll have all my wheels. If I’m doing something increadibly stupid please stop and let me know.
