James May's top toys

Hi all.

I came across this the other day while doing video searches. James May is a co-host of the British car show “Top Gear” (which in itself is hilariously amusing) and he also hosts a show called "James May’s top toys. Betcha can’t figure out which one is his favorite…

My favorite line; “how can you get this car to that siding? It could mean an hour of shunting… excellent!”

If you think this is funny, watch the episode where he convinces school children to build a 1:1 replica of a Spitfire airplane.

That was one of the best videos I have seen in some time, thanks for sharing.

great video.

At least he resisted taunting the other collectors at the auction, “Stop by my flat later and we’ll have a go at running this thing, eh?”

Oh I know right? I did a search for how much he paid in U.S. dollars; it was something like almost 350 or something for it.

Great video, I really enjoyed it.

I agree cudaken, that was very good.

I do not worship my ‘holdings’ from behind glass barriers. I use 'em, and even break 'em now and then…as happened to two of my best engines recently. No worshipping for me. Life’s all about getting involved.

I agree

If they weren’t ment to be run they wouldn’t put motors in them

You’re THE MAN!! [bow] As usual, LOL!

Seriously, that was one terrifically enjoyable video. I kind of felt like James May at that auction of ‘collector’s’, in that I’ve bought several of my brass locos from people who smile at me with a slightly superior attitude and say, “Oh, it’s NEVER been run, I just have had it for display,” to which I answer, “Well, WATCH me, buddy!”

That motor was put in the locomotive for a purpose, by Golly!

Again, a very enjoyable video.
