January 2009 Issue of CTT magazine

I recieved my copy today. I didn’t see any Christmas layouts, as I briefly looked thru the issue.

Chuck

Chuck, me niether. There was a lot more in the Dec 07 issue. Must be a bad year - there wasn’t much in the “other magazine’s” holiday issue either.

Just getting ready to do a “look see”.

I find this interesting. I remember reading (might have been on another forum) lots of complaints about the excessive amount of Christmas layouts and related articles last year. Sooo, this year the magazines reduce the amount of Christmas related content and surprise, surprise, surprise (said in my best Gomer Pyle imitation) this year’s comments are “Where is the Christmas Stuff!!” [}:)]

Seems like some of the predictions in the now locked “December CTT” thread came true… [:-^]

Please little, displease many.

Could have used more Xmas stuff but im not complaining. great issue.

Mine is here.

Christams layout pictures are nice, but for me the I did this and then I did that thing gets boring. yawn.

Really surprised, mine is here also, usually runs a week later than everyone else. [:D]

Hey, got mine. Paged through it; not bad.

Kudos to our own Alex Weihmann for his pic on page 19.

Now, for the COMPANY PHOTO, on page 29…why are all our CTT Buds in the back row…? And from the looks of things, the ladies outstaff the men 10 to 1…was that by design?

I think it would be appropriate if CTT published a picture of the CTT forum guys that go to York. After all CTT reps are in the picture, and they always meet at the CTT booth.

Don, nobody who took a photo at York has ever sent us a hi-res (or for that matter, low-res) file of the pic …

BOB,

Can’t you get the picture off the coffee pot picture of all of us? If not contact BRENT or ROY. or JELECTRIC, they should have one.

Greg…I think you are referring to another Forum.

Got mine on Thursday; finally got a chance to read some of it last night. Chuck Stone’s prewar layout is STUNNING! Also enjoyed the article on the 2400-series red-striped streamliners (I’ve always liked those, too). Also enjoyed Bob’s review of the three starter sets. Good issue. [tup]

Not a bad issue, if it were August or September. But I have to admit I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t at least a nice holiday layout as a feature story. But I have my entire collection of CTT’s on hand so I can look back on just about any other January Issue and get into the spirit.

Sometimes our Buddies at our favorite magazines forget that a majority of us have deep roots in this hobby that began under a Christmas Tree. And quite frankly, it’s the reminder of those happy childhood memories that I look for in a December/January issue.

Mine ain’t here yet ! [soapbox] [|(]

The on sale date is Dec 2nd.

I agree 100%. After all, ‘Classic Toy Trains’ should be ‘Classic’ and what is more ‘Classic’ then toy trains at Christmas.
