Well, what does everyone think? I got mine today. The cover reminded me a lot of the january 2003 issue, with the Turtle Creek Central.
Argh… mine isn’t here yet. (and I live 90 minutes from Milwaukee!)
my LHS probobly has it by now but i won’t make it there til’ after x-mas

Yepp, I should take a sub ,but I want the good thing of byuing it when into town
I have not gotten mine! It looks aesome! I think I am going to tear down my current layout (4x8) and build that one. Of course, I am a 14 yr. old on a VERY low budget and may have to take a few shortcuts! I will probably make a few changes to incluse my Walthers coal mine. My pride and joy!

wont get it til mid dec
My subscription ran out, so my last issue was the December issue. I probably won’t re-subscribe until I’m done Christmas shopping, and when I can afford it. Maybe I’ll get a subscription as a Christmas present…[:D]
You already got it? You lucky goose! I’m still waiting. I here there is a new project layout.
Got mine. Lots of great article. But you’re rigth it does ressemble 2003 issue.
This is strange, I got my copy on Wednesday here in Canada. I usually get my subscription copy after modelers in the U.S. As always, a very slick issue. The first prize in their structure kitbashing contest was very nice and complicated, although there wasn’t actually much of the original structure when completed. I’m not even sure if I’d consider a kitbash, maybe using one kit to partially scratchbuild the new model.
As usual, Lou Sassis’ Trackside Photos is featured. It seems his photos are there almost every month, not leaving too many for the average readers’ images. MR commissions him to shoot layout photos and he often has his own work published as well. Always featuring a company associated photographer seems to be lame to me.
Kalmbach’s Fine Scale Modeler magazine on the other hand usually devotes quite a few pages to their Reader Gallery feature - the December issue has five pages.

Really? The pics aren’t the owners? Wow, that one I didn’t see coming
I am anticipating mine, usually it comes on the first or second of the month. Hopefully I will get it tomorrow or Saturday or I may just go into Withdrawl over the weekend!

I don’t understand, I am the same as Fundynorthern!
Now I noticed on the feature N scale layout that there is the northeast timber company, that looks familiar…didn’t they do something similar in HO for a small layout a while back> Like 1996?
I got mine today to. I have to agree. For a minute I thought I was looking at the Turtle Creek Central for a minute. But its a layout by a “Custom” builder. How many hundrends dollar gismo gadget thingamabobs is he going to advocate? My cutting tools are limited to Miter Box, Hack Saw, and a coping saw. (To brokw to buy power tools) (I do have a screw gun)

Wow… December 2nd and STILL no new issue? This is very unusual.
