Anyone know about this important ex Missouri Pacific mainline? Besides Amtrak, how many trains run through here on an average day? Doesn’t seem to be very many for such a well kept line. Anyone here care to share some info?

Well from what I know, that is the same line that runs through St. Louis. Kirkwood actually and I frequent thhe train station there and you can catch a train about every half hour. Maybe you were there on a day when they were working on the tracks because I know that they are over hauling the line from Jeff City to STL. But to answer your question this line is pretty darn busy. The exact total of scheduled trains that go on the Jefferson City Sub/Sedalia Sub/River Sub is 48 a day, this includes the four Amtrak trains.
Sounds good! I think the Amtrak station in Jefferson City is next to the capitol building…probably some good photo opprotunities!
