I may have waved to her as we cruised by!
David, that’s quite the ride you have there! Do you share with anyone else or keep it all to yourself?
Keeps if for himself. Gotta have room for the trains you know!
Photographing cruise ships is my main hobby. Much more than trains.

My first ship I cruised on and still my favourite (SS Uganda)

David, I wouldn’t say it’s my hobby but I do like to go on cruises
Though we certainly don’t go to the amazing destinations you had in your photographs.
David, take a trip to some of the ports in Florida and you’ll have lots of ships to photograph!
I know a few Captain’s. They allow me on board.
We were on board MSC Bellissima arriving at Iraklion, Crete. photograph of Marella Dream.

Wow! Guess it pays to have friends in high places
Just good friends.

Good morning, diners. I just finished my bacon and eggs, but I’ll have another coffee, please.
My wife and I love cruises, but we have done very few since grandchildren now take up our vacation times. The ship we liked the best was not a new one, but an old liner. It went through various owners and various names. When we were on it, the name was the Bermuda Star. We had other cruises since then, but that was still our favorite. Good times.
Have a great day, everyone.
John. I have a picture of Enchanted Isle ( Bermuda Star later became Enchanted Isle.) Did you know her funnel was a dummy one? Her actual funnels were twin uptakes located far aft.

My family cruises every year, and we’ve got my niece and nephew starting early. But we cruise on bigger and bigger ships each year (a choice imposed by my mother). Next cruise is with Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas.
Good morning from the edge of the Salish Sea where it is -5c with a HOC.
I did not really enjoy the one cruise I went on and was exhausted by the end. It was up at six every morning to do the shore excursions, constantly watching the time to make sure you are back to the boat on time. I would much rather head out on a fifty foot sailboat and move at my own pace. Drop anchor and leave when you want. I have travelled a lot and I would fly somewhere and move at my own pace and when I had had enough I would find a flight home. I would generally go for six to twelve weeks at a time. I am willing to give cruising another try as there are trips that leave from Vancouver, go through the Panama canal and go to Antarctica. I think that would be interesting. Also, there is a trip from French Polynesia on a supply/cruise ship combo that I would like to try. It stops at Pitcairn Island, I would find that fascinating.
The only Captains/Admirals I have met have been on Navy ships when I have had to take documents from aircraft at Vancouver airport to visiting ships tied up in port. A few interesting stories there.
I had a bit of an owie last night along my surgery cut, the wife said it is just the internal biodegradable sutures letting go as expected, still not a pleasant feeling and is a little tender today.
Ha! I just got a call from the health care dept. asking if I would take a 30 minute survey on my two recent visits to hospital. I said sure and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I was treated like a king on both visits and the best part was the only thing I took out of my wallet was my health care card to swipe in upon my arrival.
Wife and daughter just left to go shopping! Just me and the dogs. AAAAAHHHHHH!
All the best to all.
That sounds like a busy cruise! Most of the ones we do have a couple days at an island and a couple days at sea. You do whatever excursions you feel like, and sometimes we just stay on the boat. Much more relaxing!
Beautiful photograph! Did you take it?
