I responded to the Photobucket problem in the WPF thread.

Is Photobucket giving you the endless log in loop?

if so log in , click librarry, the click the upload photo thing on teh left side of the picture squares ( usually the left most square)

that is the only way i can get it to upload at the moment.

Thanks … I get a drop sceen… Options : " share, copy, eidt, move, delete " … Not “upload”

Edit … I found the box for upl;aoding… It seems to be working but it has been spinning aorund for the past 10 minutes. … It is not getting uplaoded.

Finally … One of the images uploaded. Too late to post here now.

I’ve got a couple of lady friends who think it’s outstanding that I still have hair on my head.

I flew out to New Mexico to meet up with Mrs. ROR. She had been there for a few days housesitting her sister’s house. On the way home we went to the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. This is a winter hang-out for cranes, herons, snow geese, various ducks, and other birds. We saw hundreds of cranes and herons, and spent the sunset at a pond/marsh where a large group of cranes fly in to roost for the evening. Definitely worth a visit in the winter months.

On the way home we stopped at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory Very Large Array. This is a configuration of huge radio antennea pointed into space to observe distant (as in 30 million light-years way) galaxies. There are 27 antennea in the array, each an antenna is over 80’ wide and 90’ tall. They arrange the antennea in four different configurations. When we were there they were arranged in the largest configuration, three branches in a “Y” configuration, with one leg 11 miles long, and the other two 13 miles long. (Here comes the train-oriented part.) All of towers are mounted on perpendicular pairs of railroad tracks. They have transporters that they drive out to the towers on the tracks. The transporters lift the tower and take them to the new location. Here’s the crazy part. When they get to the intersection of the spur and the main track, they jack up the transporter, turn the trucks 90 degrees, and set it back down on the tracks. Amazing.

Morning all:

When I saw this in my comics feed this morning, I thought of you, Lion:

Good Evening!

Flo, a mug of hot chocolate, please, and I wouldn´t mind if you spice it up a little, dear!

It´s been a sunny but cold day. Below freezing in the morning and the daytime high did not get much over that mark either. I had to do some banking business, so I went out. Took me some time to clear the iced up windows, also inside! I kept the windows open for a while, hoping the dampness inside would air out. Let´s see whether that has worked!

Got to see my doc next week, as I am not feeling well. I am short of breath even without doing anything. This could be anything from asthma to a clogged up coronary vessel, so I better have that checked.

My prayers for the victims of the San Bernadino massacre a year ago!

Make it a good weekend!

Perfect! [(-D]

Good Afternoon Diners:
Here’s an experimental post of a photo from Shuterfly in an attempt to work around the inability of Photobucket to sort the endless Log In loop on their Upload App. …Well, that was a bust. Maybe CamJamm’s YouTube vehicle will do the trick…
Ray

…it does indeed, and I saw the other day where it had fouled up for you. Counter-intuitive that command string. Oh well, there are worse things I suppose, like trying to find why Photobucket has the endless Log-In loop

Der … I finally got Photobucket to upload one of my photos. … If you can get into your library and see an albumn page with your images, you can upload there. One of the squares is to click for upload instead of a square for a photo. … Look at the upper left corner of your Library page. … It says “Click to upload” … Also, the library now has security protection for each album. I unlocked mine so I could upload, but I don’t know if I needed to do that.

Don’t you just love technology ?

Ah, yes…

Well first you must understand that there are more than 356 saints in the church. Number is actually in the many thousands. So who gets to have a “feast day”. Most of them do not. Most days in fact are feral days, meaning that they have no saint associated with them in the Roman Calandar, although a local bishop or priest may wish to celebrate one of these saints on their “feast day”.

So beyond feral days, there are “optional memorials” where it is the pastor’s option to celebrate that feast or not." Then there are “Memeorial Days” thse must be celebrated, but they are still only “one-candle” days The get special hymns and prayers at mass, at morning prayer and at Vespers.

After that there are “Feast Days” these are “two candle” days, they get the proper hymns and prayers at Mas, and the bet special hymas and psalms at Morning Prayer, noon prayer and at Vespers.

Then there are Solemnities, and these are “three-candle” masses and they get all of the perqus of the Feast with the addition of the Gloria and Profession of Faith at Mass, and a second reading before the Gospel.

To the Feast of the Baptism, a rememberance of the Lord’s baptism in the Jordan is celbrated on the second or third Sunday after Christmas, depending on how those sorts of things are counted, and what diociese celbrate Epiphiny when. Epiphany used to always be on the 6th, but not it has been moved to a Sunday.

LION, not being a priest, really pays little attention to such stuff. He just does whatever the monks are doing that day and troubles himself not at all with the detail.

The Feast of the Baptism is the official end of the Christmas season and ordinary time resumes on the Monday after, with a return to Green vestme

Most churches do, but you can google an interesting history on the O-antiphons.

We sing “Drop down dews Heavens from above” as our antiphon for each week’s candle. And we do it a lot better than the ones I saw on you-tube.

ROAR

Br Elais you mentioned selling bread, which reminded my of the Bread Monk, who used to have a PBS TV show. I see he is a Benedictine but in IL. Is there such a thing as a visiting monkship? You could fix their computers and he could bring you pumpernickel.

I mean no disrespect. Unllike many of you, my family was Jewish/Catholic and estranged from their respective religions. Nevertheless I can appreciate the tremendous commitment you have made in your life and the little insight you give us.

Evening Diners

Flo, Ed will have a Royal Crown on the rocks and I will have a [B] please.

Work Front Ever get lonely at work? Yep, I should be a Maytag Repairman. Have to be my age to get that joke.

YGW I just read your post and I will be happy to post your photos. I have not checked the PM’s or E-mail yet. If you don’t mind, I may try to set up a Photo Bucket account for you. While I have not had the problems posting photos or up loading them my computer bogs down in photo bucket. I all so get pop ups if I stay on the site to long. Main reason I don’t post as many photos as I use to.

Kid That was funny, kind of surprised Lion did not say something about.

[|)]uh…hey…what?..[*-)]Oh, I see we’ve made the move to our December siding. Haven’t slept that well in years. Perhaps it’s time to stoke up the wood stove in the corner. Mint tea in a Durango & Silverton mug, please and thank you.

The remaining new train stuff arrived today. Will report on all that another time.

Cheers! [C):-)] Rob

Engine saga moves on. The Athearn U-boats I had in mind are too new for the units that the BN had. I did find a pair of alternative engines (U25C 70s era Rivarossis) but I have no idea if the shells can be adapted to a different drive. (The Rivarossi drive is not very good.) Both problems had been inquried about.

I also got my Black Friday train order: 3 bags of turf (ground cover under the trees), track ties for more eventual crossings, and the needed bottle of paint for one of my boxcar projects. The cleaner unit showed up on Wednesday (earlier than expected).

Where is everybody ?

Right here. I woke up this morning and the wife had arranged for the cleaning lady to be here. Yuck. She will make a racket with the vacuum cleaner for hours, and when she’s gone the whole house will smell like a swimming pool locker room. It’s 43 degrees out and I’ve got windows open and fans running in my bedroom upstairs to flush out the chlorine smell.

Mr. B. … Glad to see you are here.

FRRY … The current production Rivarossi U25C’s may be what you want. They are comeplely redesigned models which have good reviews. They are expensive, and you may have to save up your money before buying any of them. They have NP and CB&Q. I m not planning on acquiring them for my railroad becasue my most modern locomitves are SD24’s. Rivarossi is now affiliated with Hormby in the UK. Google “Hornby Trains” for info. They sell both HO and N models of the U25C.
