Welcome one and all to April’s version of Jeffrey’s Trackside Diner. Last month we increased business by 10%, I think we are going to need to knock out a wall and expand the joint.
Trainman90 has suggested we discuss logging ops this month, sounds good to me. May I suggest we expand it somewhat to allow lumber ops as well. Forest floor to city store should add more content to the discussion.
A dozen days into Spring means the bears are waking from their slumber, so look both ways before hopping out of your shay.
I actually don’t feel like bacon and eggs this morning. Wait. What day is this?
Chloe, I’ll have bacon, eggs, and coffee, please.
It’s raining! After all the snow, the rain is a good sign that Spring is here.
When I was a kid, I loved the Weyerhaeuser ads in magazines. I cut out a bunch and kept them in a folder (lost long ago). Each ad had a scene of some wildlife in a northwestern forest. Something about them made me feel good.
This one at least has a logging train in the scene:
Anyways, I can actually word now, I ended up randomly waking up at about 3AM, so that was fun. I have a train show at my local VFW this weekend as well, and I’m also gonna get my layout, well, Laid out benchwork wise.
Hi all.
Probably the best news i can bring is, the Friends of the East Broad Top offically passed their 2025 campaign goal of 270,000ish usd. Currently at $281,000 and its going until september.
Good morning, all. Dog and I will have our toast and coffee, please.
Glad to hear the good news, David. Very happy for you.
Thank you all for your help on the coupler thing. Think I have it all figured out now. Should keep me busy while on the road, along with some other kitbashing that I plan on doing.
Snow blower is still on JD, which is good. Suppose to get up to 10-12" by tomorrow night. Just because it’s April…
ADAPT AND OVERCOME.
Somewhere the text of my post was eaten by Gremlins! The photo came through, so that’s good.
What I was saying is that the taxes are in the mail, a refund being possible if Revenue Canada agrees with me…
So, in celebration, I posted the CBNS, or my freelance imagining of it on a grade crossing at the front of the layout…Enjoy!
After a long break, I am back.
Nothing much new here, just getting over winter. Still some snow to get
melted but should be done in a week or so.
Greetings to all my old friends.
