Good Afternoon,
Chris, that 73 Corvette of yours sounds like a nice car. A friend of mine had one but it had the 350 motor. He sold it back in 75 but I bet he wish he still had it. I have a friend on the west coast who is restoring his 65 to get it judged at the NCRS. He has it nearly done. It is just a hobby for him as he is a retired biology scientist.
Brent talking about early TV got me thinking and I remember when TV came to Winnipeg in 1955. We didn’t get a set until 1956 and it was only one channel, CBC that came on the air at 4 pm. I can still sing the Roy Rogers theme song.
TF, glad you are feeling better. I have managed to avoid getting a cold or the flu for at least 6 years but then again I don’t go anywhere.
CN Charlie
Pretty classy name on such an intrepid, old scow!
I like that! Trying to decide which of us has more miles on us though. As far as the wear and tear goes and how we look, I would say it’s a toss up…
CNCharlie, yes, the car is pretty special to me. My late brother gave it to me when he passed back in 1979. I consider myself more of a caretaker with it. We are both aging as gracefully as possible, but I Think the Vette is doing a much better job of it!
But more importantly, takes for bringing up childhood memories of Roy Rogers!
regards, Chris
Good Morning Diners. Chloe, bacon, eggs, and coffee please.
I decided to just give up, admit I must be sick, and blame my wife for making me sick. Not being able to go to bed early the last couple nights isn’t a help, but what do you do?
My youngest is supposed to have a soccer game tonight. Hoping she doesn’t play. She sprained her ankle last week, pretty badly. While she claims it is feeling almost back to 100%, the team they are playing tonight has a history of dirty play. Targeting hurt players, specifically. But, she is a stubborn teenager, so all we can do is continually try to talk sense into her. Luckily, her boyfriend is on our side and has been trying to do the same thing.
TF, I see you are here as I’m typing this. Hope you are back to 100%!
Have a good day everyone!
Good morning
Finished up my chores yesterday and actually got some things done on the layout for once.
Yes, there’s something said about staying home Charlie, that you never get sick. But you better knock on wood after making a statement like that my friend
And thanks for your kind words
Your killing me Chris!
Here ya go, throw down a set of these over it.
They’ll have a custom set for your Vette too.
Nice tug boat Brent!
I’m gonna go look for some logging stuff to edit in over coffee here this morning.
Edit:
Was hoping that axe man up high didn’t chop his tether.
Hope you and the wife get to feeling better as well Chris. And Thanks for grandma’s wellness elixir Bear. But wish you shared her healing recipe last week
Make it a great hump day gentleman
TF
Gidday Chloe, could you please make a large batch of my Grandmas cure all, as we appear to have a large number of ffolkes under the weather!
It consists of a large dollop of honey, fresh squeezed lemon juice, a generous splash, or splashes of whiskey, mixed together with warm water. To be taken just before bed. (Also works for those not feeling poorly!)
Last night I mentioned the difficulties I would have making working mechanism for the “Bush Lokies” for instance this A&G Price 16-wheeler…

…and how on earth would I realistically animate this form of motive power?!!

No honey. No lemon juice. Got the whisky though.
David
Hi Bear,
I cannot comment on animated Draft Horses, but that Price loco looks real good, for creating a model from.
Paul

Gidday Chloe, I suspect David has been round long enough to go without the honey and lemon juice, and go straight for the scotch, but please keep an eye out for any hints of scurvy!
Mr. TF, I’ve always tried to be a fair-minded, even-handed bloke!
Something a bit more modern, Olly Smiths Bedford based diesel powered 12-wheeler designed to haul 70 tons on a 1 in 10 grade.

The unit is preserved in a roofed cage at Mamaku, which does make it difficult to take a decent photo! (Well, that’s my excuse anyway!!)

Good Morning Diners. Zoe, coffee and an English muffin please.
Bear, that’s a neat looking unit, and with a chain drive to boot!
Well, I was able to turn in an hour early last night, but then awoke early to one of the dogs getting sick. Our oldest pooch (15-1/2!) has been dealing with heart failure for several years and now his kidneys are failing. The doc said the occasional vomiting for no apparent reason is from the kidney failure. I just wish his body would stop picking the middle of the night to do that. And seriously, why hasn’t anybody made an alarm clock that sounds like a dog throwing up? Guaranteed to wake you!
Happy Thursday everyone. We’re getting there.
Playing pick-up-sticks!

Finally, today should be mostly sunny and in the — get this — 60s!
I’ll be at the caboose with the Coppertone…
Cheers, Ed
Good morning all.
Mike, I’m sorry to hear that about your oldest dog. Mine turns 15 in June and it’s definitely hard to watch them get older. Agree about the dog getting sick alarm, when it happens I jump out of bed in a flash
Good morning everyone, it’s a beautiful day here in Michigan
I’m also sorry to hear about your dog, we had to put our 12 yr old dog down 3 weeks ago. Watching her age rapidly was difficult.
Wishing all a great day!
Joe
Good morning
A whopping 70° predicted here, but late afternoon thunderstorms, some severe.
Ya still gotta watch-em. The bank that’s used for daily spending recorded a sizable deposit, as a debit. Of coarse all it took was a phone call, but what would of happened if one didn’t check account activity on a daily basis? Ya gotta watch-em.
Happy Days are getting closer Ed!
I’d bet your anxiously anticipating, unboxing those G scale Beauties soon.
Can hardly wait to see them from over here
PS I’m sorry as well to hear about your
Canine friend Mike. Our pets are members of the family and certainly know how hard that is to go through.
Make it a great day ya’ll
