Hi Chris. We both had our knees done with very good results. He was going back to get another procedure done at the time, but couldn’t seem to remember what it was. After giving him a call today, he told me it was his wrist, from a lifetime of turning wrenches. He said he also had very good results with that.
You need to know going into this, results vary from person to person. The link shared with you on an earlier post stated they are performing shoulder procedures, and results are mixed.
Damien said the procedure is widely common now and available under $1,000. The procedure works on many, but not on everyone.
Good morning from the Pacific Rim where it has been monsooning all night long, so hard it has kept us awake, 9c.
Last night there was a large double pulse of light that turned night into day. I figured one of the Military bases came under nuclear attack and was waiting for the blast wave to arrive. It turned out to be a meteor blowing up right over head.
The house has been crazy the last couple of months as we have had puppies and people have been coming to see them and now they are starting to go to their new homes and we have some people coming in from all over the planet to take them home. One good friend who lived her entire life in California packed up and moved to Europe six months ago and flew commercial here to pick up her puppy and has hired a private jet to take her and the mutt back home to Europe. Another one is going to Australia and one to the Czech republic. It has been a long time since we had a litter and it is a lot of work for my wife.
I have been glued to my desk the last three days watching the markets, the worlds goings on don’t affect me much, however, lot’s of people are phoning to chat. Never take free advice is my advice.
I am not going for a scoot today as the amount of water out there is quite something, so I think the trainroom will be it.
Just one puppy going home today to Alberta. I said if they wanted to wait a month I would deliver it and then I could go to Supertrain in Calgary. Not a chance they said, some people are so impatient. They fly in this morning and out tonight.
Time for another cuppa and I am looking forward to a slow-mo day.
It was getting a little late last night and It was figured, you were probably sitting on the couch in your living room, petting the pooches watching the fire crackle in the fireplace, with a fine glass of scotch Brent. Who wouldn’t
Where’s my manners? Thanks for sharing that fine glass of scotch last night Ed
Good morning, folks. Nothing much to report here. Just another cloudy day in north Kansas.
Looking into 19th Century locomotives, I remembered one of the railroads bought out by the Rock Island was the Choctaw, Oklahoma, and Gulf (CO&G), coming under RI ownership in 1904. Many of their steam locomotives, primarily 2-8-0 Consolidations, remained in RI service until the end of steam. Early on in their life, they were making their rounds in Indian Territory in the mid 1890s.
Additionally, I found this very peculiar tank engine that the CO&G acquired from Baldwin in 1898. This 2-2-2T locomotive, which the railroad called “Arapahoe,” was used as inspection locomotive, primarily around the railroad’s coal mines by the sounds of it.
I’ve always wondered if this practice ended because of the risk of being cooked or because of how hard it could have been to have a conversation while riding astride the boiler? At any rate I’m sure it was track gang foremen, engineers and other people involved in the work who rode like this rather than corporate brass!
I was on the couch with a mutt and the fire going, however, no crackle, as it is a gas fireplace much to my chagrin. I almost didn’t buy the house because it did not have a real fireplace. My old house had two wood burning beauties with big concrete wood bins and I loved it. Having gas fireplaces was its only fault and I decided to live with them, it has three including the one in the trainroom.
I am out of booze which is a rare occurrence. I rarely ever buy it as people I do favours for and the buds keep the bar well stocked. I will have a snort if it is there but do not miss it if it is not.
Good morning, diners. I’ll have bacon, eggs, and coffee, even though it’s lunch time.
We are the same a little north of you. It doesn’t bother me, but it gets to my wife. I’ve mentioned before, she grew up in Cleveland (Euclid), and she said it was either cloudy or smoggy every day. She wants to see the sun.
It was a year ago in March we had a huge ice storm, and for the first time in many years we lost power. It was below zero F out, and houses began to get cold. Our wood-burning fireplace came in handy, and we had neighbors who came and we all sat in front of the fire, having a great time.
My wife cooked some eggs, and I made a large pot of coffee over the fire. It was fine for one day, but I sure wouldn’t want to do it very often.
In the 1870s, a photographer named Silvis traveled around the west on his special car on the Union Pacific RR. He took photos of families and businesses. He was very successful, and it was reported he sometimes made over $100 in a single day!
I’m not sure if the spellings were different back then, or they just didn’t have spell-check at the printing company!
