Well I’ve had a pretty decent Independence day, hope you guys did too.
After a long while of having lost interest in aircraft I’ve finally gotten reenthused about flight! I’m considering buying a BNF P51 Mustang RC next paycheck, I’ll also probably be buying a small gopro to shoot some aerial footage.
It´s a nice day again. Right now, the fresh morning air makes it pleasant, but temperatures will rise beyond the comfort zone for me in a couple of hours. The fire department is on alert - yeterday, they had to put out quite a number of little wayside fires, caused by beep (expletive, deleted) sons of beep (expletive, deleted), throwing cigarette butts about!
My new office chair is giving up its ghost. The ditributor is sending a new pneumatic spring, but that won´t solve the issue. Although supposedly designed for heavy duty use way above my weight, the spring won´t hold it. I guess I have to order a new chair, which will put an end to my layout building activities for a much longer time than I was afraid of.
Well, this is life! when you thought your head is above the water, someone empties a bucket load over you!
I’m glad your morning started decent. Those careless people throwing cigarettes starting fires is much unwarranted.
I can say that because I don’t smoke anymore. I was never idiot enough to throw live cigarettes out the window though. To bad our wives can’t join our quit smoking team.
I need you to say a prayer for little Robbie, CN Charlie’s little dog needs our prayers. I know the other Forum members will join in.
I’m a little late praying for Sparkie the cat I just got wind of that from Reading Eds post.
I’m up too late. I got to hit the rack. Work tomorrow [:(]
CN Charlie… Pet health insurance ? … That’s something. Sounds like it is worthwhile in your case… I hope thye can cure your dog’s disease.
Ed … I like the post card.
We figured out where Lion is. Now, where is Galaxy? … and several others ?
This is another photo from the CO Amtrak trip. Looking back from the window of the rear door, we see one of many tunnels as the train climbs up the Eastern Slope.
Good Day Diners! Very definitely “Salad Days” in these parts – which is good as we’re trying to incorporate 20cc of olive oil into our daily diet (another &ldqu
Look FAST, him is going on vacation tomorrow, and the first stop is Eau Clare Wisconsin, Him will visit Toy Train Show sponsored by Menards and MR. Hope to see some MRites there.
From there him will go to Duluth, I’ll stay with the Benedictine Sisters there, and will visit rail, and ship museums, and also the Duluth Zoo which has an African Lion that I want to see.
I’ll return along the northern border of North Dakota, and will spend a day at Lake Metigoshe.
Final stop on the way back to the Abbey will be at Cartwright ND where the Great Northern built a tunnel and drawbridge. Their plan was to relocate their mane lion to a more southernly route. Army Corps of Engineers had different plans, they flooded the Missiouri River to create Lake Sakakawea.
Oh Well…
Have Camera will Travel… Photos forthcoming when I return.
Spend an hour watching a trio of deer grazing on the meadow behind our house. What a serene and beautiful sight! If it weren´t for man, the world could be a beautiful place…
Had my third day of driving today, different instructor today, she does not like teenagers, she had an attitude that would get most people thrown out of the car, I tried to be curteous in an effort to improve her mood, no luck, I will be complaining to the DMV, she was yelling every time I made a mistake even if it was a small one, which I understand her needing to correct my mistakes but yelling is not acceptable nor necessary.
Ya done good, kid! Always remember: “Never argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference!” And a line from an oft used dismissal in my church, “Return no one evil for evil.” Even be very nice when you complain to the DMV… Do remember that she may just have been having a very bad day. (especially having to deal with … Teenagers!!! [:-^] LOL
I have been setting up the dining room/computer room here at my house for a Youth Protection Training session for the Pack and Troop leaders where I am commissioner. Expecting about 7 people plus the trainer. This is a new and different training than the one they were using and includes a lot of new appropriate information for the changes happening on Scouting. I took it at the last District Roundtable, so I am just hosting it. Got lots of snack stuff here for everyone too.
Hey Brother Big Cat, have a great vacation! I look forward to the pics when you get back.
Steven NWP SWP … I think you handled that well. Don’t let it bother you, and forget about it. … You have two ears for a good reason. You can let it in one ear and out the other !
Speaking of Colorado, a great train between Denver and Dallas was the Texas Zephyr.
Also, another photo of the Amtrak trip… West of the Continental Divide, we met the eastbound Amtrak California Zephyr …
Evening diners… I’ll have two aspirin and a Coke please.
maxman I’m sure that one above was for me last night. I did bust a gut when I seen it. I had that one coming. As my dad used to say “If the shoe fits wear it”.
Yeah you’ll have to excuse me. I got a little out of the box. I don’t know where that lovey-dovey crap comes from. It’s better than getting mean I guess, but not much.
Painful day at the office. I was sweating bullets framing a deck. Those green treated timbers aren’t getting any lighter as I’m getting older. It’s hard enough work under normal circumstances.
