Them don’t look like the cats in my neck of the woods.

Howdy folks,
Went to O’Reillys auto parts, it’s going to run me about 300 in parts alone, a good part of the stuff I can get done but three things are going to wait till October when I can get it into the shop.
Those things are a metal shift tube, new fully insulated shift cable, and motor mounts.
And I also have a cylinder missing when the throttle is almost wide open.
When I was gassing up earlier I saw a phone charger in the bed of my truck, seems Nate aka the club horses patoot was goofing around in the bed of my truck and forgot his charger back there, I have contacted Casey about it and he’s forwarded it to Nate, I guess I’ll have to make a run to Central to get it to him.
I’ll be around later.
Nice looking MR pictures Ulrich. Compared to my modeling speed your definitely quicker getting things done than I am… impressive photos[;)]
Nice Tennessee/Kentucky pictures moecurlylarry. I must say I enjoyed them. Nice contributions to the thread! Appreciated[;)]
I always liked Johnny’s song with June I’m Going to Jackson[tup]
Evening all, it was another 23c sunny day in paradise today.
Garry, Happy Anniversary. That was a nice gift from your wife. We are two lucky guys as my wife has surprised me on more than one occasion with stuff for the layout.
A friend sent me this video, he is a Parks Canada Ranger up in Banff and gives courses on dealing with Grizzly bear encounters. These visitors handled the situation reasonably well, though they should have slowly moved to the right up the hill in case Mr. Bear said you are on my trail.
I have only had Grizzly encounters when I was in my truck off the beaten track and I always have my bear spray when hiking. I have come nose to nose with a cougar once she was a real babe. The cougar was on top of a pile of lumber looking down at me, I noticed it out of the corner of my eye when it moved, We both froze noses about 5’ apart. I spoke softly and took a couple of slow steps, then it turned and ran off. The real kicker is, I saw the thing about five hours earlier as it ran across the highway right in front of me.
MLC, lovin the pics. I like it when we get lots of input on the area we are visiting.
Hope your wife gets over her health issues.
I think I may need another shoulder surgery, however, I will procrastinate as usual. Though it would be nice to be all healed up by early Spring so we’ll see. Last time I went in, the whole thing just totally took over my life before I knew what hit me. Saw my DR.on a Tuesday, the surgeon on thursday, had an MRI on Monday, went in for a test procedure on Wednesday where they froze my shoulder and moved it around to test motion. Booked me for surgery two weeks later, however, I had them postpone that until the summer was over. If I had to sit in front of the idiot box recuperating,

Flo, give the gang a [B], Ulrich, Rick, Steven what they want and I take a bottle of Crow Royal for my self! [sigh] Yep another one of those days. [banghead]
Dyamic Dual Dunce’s Strick Again! [banghead] I am not sure what happened this time, but a couple was sold one mattress in king sizes that was a old floor model only mattress that was stopped being made in 2016 but was told it would be a new one. But ticket had the correct name and sku for a driffrent current mattress? The customer saw it was not the same mattress (by the same company) and I got the deal done with out lying! I guess she does not realize not every one is as stupid as she is and remebers what things look like!
Ulrich That is a great looking back drop!
Ray First time I smiled all day!
Thank God I am off the next 4 days!

My truck is a 93 f150 it’s an OBS F Series (Old Body Style)
Basically between 79 and 98 Ford reused the same basic truck design and updated certain things.
For example 79-86 you have the “Bullnose”
87-91 you have the “Bricknose”
![]()
Then 92-96 you have the OBS
![]()
Now that’s for the F-150s, the F-250 and larger trucks stayed OBS 97-98
Don’t bother Bear. You will forget which arm it is on![swg][(-D][(-D]

Uh, sorry Ulrich. Gordon Lightfoot is one of my favourite artists too but he sure as heck isn’t from the Appalachians! He was born in Orillia, Ontario, Canada in 1938, and made his first recording at the age of 10 years on a recording machine in his school principal’s office. The recording was subsequently played over the PA system on Parent’s Day. One of the early places he played in his ‘solo’ professional career was at the Riverboat Coffee House in Toronto. My brother saw one of his appearances there and was hooked forever. He introduced me to Lightfoot’s incredible music. I used to put a stack of Lightfoot’s LPs on my old record player when I was in university and listen to them all night while I wrote my papers. I rolled a few papers to his tunes too!![:-^]

WOW Ulrich!!
Once again you have worked miracles with your backdrops. It looks fantastic! It totally brings the layout to life IMHO.
Based partly on your inspiring work I’m going to suggest to the club that we invest in some decent quality backdrops for the new layout. Right now all we have is blue walls with some clouds spray painted on them. We will have to invest in some lighting as well or the backdrop will not stand out.
Thanks,
Dave
Handsome truck Steven! Much better looking than the newer models IMHO.
We just got back from Prince Edward Island. We had a great trip except for two things. One was the mosquitos! About the worst I have ever experienced!! Fortunately they only lasted a couple of days.
The other was the rental car! We were informed by the very friendly and polite rental company representative that we were being given a complimentary upgrade to an SUV because they didn’t have any of the full sized Chevy sedans that we had asked for. OK, so far so good, or so we thought. The upgraded SUV was a Volkswagen Tiguan with 3000 kms on it.
Let me first explain that I have never been a Volkswagen fan. I won’t get into why, but this rental proved to me that my opinion was correct.
The first weakness, again IMHO, was that it shut off the engine every time you came to a full stop. OK, I’m in favour of reducing greenhouse gases, but the problem was that when you wanted to go again the throttle response from a dead start was very feeble and the power increase as the car accelerated was very uneven. If you did want to accelerate faster, the engine jumped to insanely high revs but the acceleration was still poor. I learned that I could beat the system by stopping a little further back from the car in front and then slightly letting up on the brake before the light turned green. That started the engine before there was a need to accelerate so the throttle response was much more linear.
Keeping the thing at a constant speed was also nearly impossible. The feedback between throttle position and speed was non-existent. It was hard to keep the car within 5 kph without constantly watching the speedometer, that is if you could find the speedometer. The Tiguan has both analogue and digital speed readouts. Unfortunately the analogue speedometer is positioned such that the normal highway speed
Ulrich, no need to apologise. I wasn’t trying to be critical. Sorry if it came off that way.
I don’t follow those sorts of details either, and I have to admit that I had to search for Lightfoot’s information for my post. I know what music I like and I listen to it, but there are very few songs that I can remember all the lyrics to or remember who wrote and performed them.[D)]
Sorry to hear about the backdrop problem. I’m glad that it should be a simple fix.
All the best!
Dave
Another beautiful classic Ford truck!
I learned to drive in a totally clapped out Jaguar XK150S that my brother owned. It was rusting and the tires were bald, but it still went like a cat out of hell, that is if the roads were dry![Y][(-D]

A Johnny Cash song that fits steven’s Truck
Thanks MLC great cheerful morning tune to start my day. Sure wish I could post a Johnny Cash song. I have a hard enough time posting pictures without worrying about infringing on copyrights.
Positive thoughts and best wishes to all that need them[;)]… have a great day y’all.
PS I like Ford trucks Steven. I’ve been driving one all my life. Nice!
