Just and FYI to anyone interested in the B&O Railroad in Wheeling, West Virginia.
There is a photo exhibit of JJ Young’s photos (about 30 or so) on display at the Wheeling Artisan Center in Wheeling.
The exhibit runs through the end of December.
Not to be missed if you are a fan of the B&O or JJ Young.
For those of you not familiar with JJ’s work, it is mostly black and white, cultivated while growing up along the old W&LE and other coal haulers in the area, and expanded upon as an instructor of visual aids and photography at Broome (County, NY) Community College during the late 60’s through the 80s. Thus the EL, D&H, and LV are prominent among his works, his roots of WVA are probably the better part of this exhibit. His name can be found near many photos’ in TRAINS and other publications and books through the years noted. His work stands atop of railfan photography and are a must see for anyone interested in photography, trains, history, with an eye toward learning how to do it well and right…
