Sad to hear this news. His books are regularly removed from my shelves for new visits. In addition to his photographic skills, his writing was outstanding, serving to evoke a time and place echoed in his photos. I wish you a clear board, Mr. Collias, and my sympathies to your family.
Very sad news, I have a lot of his books. They were a valuable resource when I lived in SW Missouri
I’ve got a copy of his “magnum opus” “The Search For Steam” myself, and treasure it. It’s not going anywhere.
Ride easy on the “Night Train” Joe, you will be missed.
My condolences go out to Mr Colias’s wife and family. I have two of his books on the Missouri Pacific Lines.
Great man. I got to meet him and he signed a pair of Mopac books he wrote-still have them; they ain’t going nowhere! Rest in peace, Joe.
What a loss! I’m a big fan of his writing style and love the book Search for Steam. Is there any plan to reprint any of his books? I would love to have a copy of his Texas and Pacific book. Sympathy to his family
