Judge facing train sex charge

A TOP judge was yesterday charged with indecently exposing himself to women passengers on commuter trains.

The Court of Appeal’s Lord Justice Richards was formally charged at a London police station.

He had been arrested by British Transport Police officers in January and released on bail following questioning.

He will appear before Westminster magistrates on Thursday.

British Transport Police said the charges related to two separate incidents in South West London.

Richards, 56, a married dad of three, has not worked in court since his arrest last month.

He is chairman of governors at posh school King’s College, near his home in Wimbledon.

The judge denied the offences when he spoke to reporters following his arrest. He said: “I spoke to police and gave them my full co-operation about an incident last October which I deny.”
