July Coffee Pot - Celebrating with red tomatoes, white grits, and blue crabs for 17 years!

I had one (1) job…[#oops]

LOL!

Have a great day everyone. Much needed rain here in SWPA.

Morning all.

Been packing for the move, we close on new house 3 Aug 2021. It has 3 bed 2 baths with an added 2 car carport with storage room ( about 5’ x 20’ ) attached to that is a single garage with room for a workshop.

Won’t actually move until the 18th, pack up is 17th move is 18th. I want to change locks and get cable, gas, & electricity hooked up before we move in.

Otherwise not much else going on here

Smokey1 - Congrats on the new abode. Which room will be for trains…? Five x twenty sounds intriguing. [8-|]

Mornin’ all!

So that project I stayed up to fix the 2 gotchas Tuesday night? The owner started looking at it on Tuesday, we had a 2.5 hour meeting yesterday where he wanted a bunch of changes and additions. Really? The Guatemala team has been working on this since December, we had initial planning and design meetings going back all the way to last August, we were going to roll it out this week, and you haven’t looked at it??? So now we’re delayed at least for a week, most likely more. And we will have another meeting to go over even more stuff. Glad I killed myself Tuesday night.

So as I’m progressing on these bridge abutments for my viaduct project, I need to replenish my paint. Last night I made a disappointing discovery: Lowe’s no longer has their line of Valspar spray paints. Worse, after looking online, the one I was using doesn’t even seem to be made anymore. I reached out to the company at the Valspar site last night, explaining what I was using it for and if it was available, hopefully I’ll hear back from them. This is what I had:

Unfortunately, the can I have still feels full, but there’s no pressure left inside the can. It’s 7-8 years old, it must have leaked out in the interim. Wish there was a way to repressurize it.

Guess I’ll have to make due with a mix of Krylon and Rustoleum paints, even though they’re not as good.

Looks like the t-storms are about to hit, it’s gotten quite a bit darker outside.

Have a good one!

Thank’s Flintlock for the NJ Diner info. Made me think old restraunts don’t seem to last here, Get torn down and replaced. Since I got a stent there is so much I like that I can’t eat.

A neighbor has a guest who has a late model ZL1 Camaro, healthiest sounding thing I have heard for awhile so I looked it up.

650 HP 6.2 L or 376 CI. supercharged, $75, 000

3.4 0 to 60 11.5 at 124 1/4 mile.

WOOOO HOOOO!!! PAGE 1!!!

Just checking in - raining and 80 here.

Camaro = Belly Button car (everyone has one…lol)

Cops found 5,000 lbs of illegal fireworks stored at someons house. They have a big truck with a sphier made for the safe demolation of things like this. Something went wrong, it destroyed the truck and it’s a big desel, overturned a nearby car, blew out windows for aways, injured 17 people including police. The bomb squad is called in.

I just watched the video. Yikes! All of which means:

  1. LAPD should return that truck for a refund. They obviously didn’t get their money’s worth since it didn’t perform as advertised.

  2. There was something a hell of a lot more powerful than fireworks mixed in with the pile.

  3. Next time take the stuff WAY outside the city limits before you blow it up. Bomb squad cops in North Jersey used to take confiscated fireworks out to designated disposal ranges in the Hackensack Meadowlands to blow things up. Just sayin’, you know.

Mornin’ all!

Just did a run to ShopRite, they had beef on for $2 a pound. Picked up around 6 pounds, that should keep us good for hamburgers for a couple of weeks.

Trying to design the next set of bridge abutments to handle that underarch bridge, this one from Lionel:

So for the Miss USA pageant, did you see that a transgender won Miss Nevada? Ain’t that grand?

Looking forward to the weekend, just need to get through the ridiculousness of today and this project at work. Plus all of the other stuff on my plate. They had wanted me to do a presentation this afternoon on the stuff I have been researching and taking a class in over the last 2-3 months. I told them (in much more diplomatic terms): “Are you crazy?” So it got moved to next Friday.

Definitely cooler outside than the last few days - this is the weather I enjoy.

Have a good one!

Mornin’ boys and girls. Clearing and a pleasant 70 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. FifeyWifey babysitting over at Nurse Princess’s castle. She asked me to do some yard work over there, so I’m waiting for the dampness to burn off before I load up the Durango. I feel like strumming the uke today, too.[ip]

check out R J Gabor Bridges, out of Buffalo, NY. On ebay, they are megab46.

I have 2 of his custom built spans on my layout, and love them. Very reasonbly priced, especially for the craftmanship, and ready for painting or staining. Mine looked so nice, I struggled with covering the natural wood appearance.

TGIF - even though I have to work tomorrow ---- lol

Rain and storms moved through yesterday, lower humidity and lower temps

Drill was another bust - 1 officer showed up and he was unprepared. Did a Rescue Truck Tour. So, he “winged” it.

Home by 930 and under the covers.

Tonight, we will be shopping for Sunday’s picnic and Jenni’s conditioner and shampoo, then discuss the “Guest List”…

Tomorrow, work from 0800 to 4 PM, them run over to see the Trenton Thunder (Minor League) play the Iron Pigs (Phillies AA) with a private BBQ.

“Wail!” Oh, how we miss Shop-Rite! [:'(]

We’ve got Publix, Kroger, Wegmann’s, but it’s just not the same.

I hear ya, although it’s not as good as it used to be. But still better, and cheaper, than down in VA. In Charlottesville we have Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Giant and Kroger. I used to like Harris Teeter, but feel like they’ve gotten cheap. For example, we used to be able to buy loose coffee beans by the pound: they got rid of that some time after 2018.

They probably got rid if the loose coffee beans because of the hysteria. A store here had loose nuts of different kinds and dried fruit and that stopped along with buffets at the beginning.

Buffets are coming back, I went to one Tuesday and saw a ad for another.

I’m laying Gargraves bend your own on my layout expansion.

Thanks brother Fifey. Made it back to the PC. Went through 1 million emails. 79 degrees and sunny. Was going to have some fun on PC this afternoon. Well, neck is hurting so bad that ain’t happening. Actually better. Backing out on some meds. Trying to eat.

Lady Firestorm says "Try the Shop-Rite in Rochelle Park!

Every time we’re up north we work in a visit, and come away wondering if we did the right thing moving to VA. Of course we did, but still…

Hey everybody, Lady Firestorm’s got a question. She’s putting together a cat-themed gift basket to be raffled at an animal rescue fund-raiser. The particular contents for the basket are wines and she needs guidance.

The question is, “If you were a cat, what kind of wine would you drink?”

Any ideas? I’ve got mine!

Not a wine afficianado though I have occasionally been accused of being a whiner. [;)] But…something with a catnip back?

I’m not a wine drinker but this looked kind of interesting.
