I figured this would be appropriate to start since some people are going on about M.W Hemphill’s skills and his qualifications at times disrespectful.
I think we should be more concerned about the questions being answered and not take for granted the knowledgeable people like M.W Hemphill who take time out of their lives to answer our questions.
Before we go and criticise others, maybe we should ask others to see if we are so perfect. I’ll start and to answer myself, no I’m not perfect.

P.S Thankyou all who have helped me for so far. I appreciate you all.[:)]
As one imperfect one to another - be grateful that Mr. Hemphill does take the time to answer questions. I’ve seen several topics in this forum where he has taken a great deal of time and done some research to provide cogent, concise answers that might otherwise have gone by the board.
Mark - we’re with you, baby. Hang in there and remember “ILLEGITIMATI NON CARBORUNDUM”!
Old Timer
Well Junctionfan, I think you are basically an OK guy You are obviously someone who likes to think,…and in my book, we need more people like that…[;)]… But, at the same time, there is definitely a chip on your shoulder (not that it bothers me) and I’d offer that it is that chip that has inspired som of the other members to be a little more generous with insults toward you than normally might be the case… (fwiw)
As for Mark Hemphill,…well I’m probably going to draw a few groans for saying this,…But in one aspect his decision to leave the position as editor has been the best thing that ever happened TO THIS FORUM.
Before the torches and pitchforks come beating on my door, let me explain that. Mark did an outstanding job as editor, his boots will be challenging to fill…But, since his time of leaving the post as editor, look how his contribution to this forum has grown, look how his post count has grown. Considering the fact that a man with his knowledge base has become more accessible to all of us…that is a “gain” situation.
His talents were not always that apparent in his role as editor, Much of his contribution was no doubt “behind the scenes” which while there in every issue, did not directly “track” to him. Whereas, his contributions here, particularly when he chooses to elaborate on specifics, has been spellbinding.
Not that I always agree with him, but the sheer volume of knowledge the man has a command over, wasn’t nearly so obvious from his monthly “opening remarks” page, as he has proven here, since making his move…
And keep in mind that, as editor of the magazine, he was required to remain neutral…in that if he offered his opinion here, while editor there, some might assume that his personal opinion was the offical stance of the magazine…
or that due to his position, his viewpoint or statements would carry some “offical” weight that they otherwise would not.
So, by leaving the magazine, he is now free, as one of us “ordinary citizens”, to express his viewpoints and opinions as freely as he choses, without the repercussions that would otherwise have occured…
Not that any of “us” are ordinary…
As Mookie would say, “Purrrfect”
