Right RT. April 1, 2004 in Savanah GA. I was at Bass Pro Shops. Big Boy [Elliot] suggested we do a continous one. Had done a new one each day for a couple of weeks. I just copied the May one and then “tweeked” it.
Bed time.
Happy Uno de Juno boys. Retirement gives me free time to make up new holidays for the calendar. Laundry and work in the train room, since it’s rainy in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Doing some Amtrak riding today. Fifedog, I’ll wave as I go past to BWI.
Wouldn’t this make a nice scenet to model? It’s May 1938 in Atlanta Ohio.
AAAAh, it’s June, the grass is green, the birds are singing and it’s 42 degrees… It was a cold and wet weekend spent doing daughter-wedding-related chores… Supposed to warm up by the end of the week. Sure hope so.
Buckeye, where are you headed? Gonna be near Baltimore…?
Doug we had downpours of rain, it would let up for awhile and then pour again. From Sat noon till 5pm yesterday. Glad I cut the grass on Friday. Need to trim with the weedwacker though.
Chief I’ll get you next month, I’m going to start the July Pot on Fathers day…[swg]
S.J.
And put 15 years back in it. [(-D]

Charlie Revere of Revere Gas passed this morning First worked for his father then him could not of ever asked to work for two nicer people to work for. The area will surely will miss him.
Not much planned for today need to go grocery shopping but thats the plans for today.

Like Doug said, Cool and damp here on the North Bluff.
Going to try to get some grass cut today. I got new Gator blades for the big mower. Boy they look mean. [:O]
If you want to know who makes them PM me.
Doug, Did you have an attachment on your post?? If so I don’t see it??? [%-)]
Wow, that’s quite a blade, Kev. I just linked to a neat photo.
I don’t see a link either Doug???
I’m at my brothers family in Beaverton Oregon for my nieses wedding.
Its warm enough that they have the windows open including at night and was raining off and on. Yesterday was hot, today cooler.
Well my niece is married, the wedding was nice, it was at a country club in the country at a place for weddings. On the way there I saw 3 rivers, there are no rivers in southern Calif.
People here drive 55 or 60 with a few 70 on the freeways, aggervates me and I’m not driving, on Calif. if your going less than 80 in the left lane your a hazzard on the road.
The wedding reception was in a big hall, in Calif. I’ll guarantee you the air conditioning woul be going full blast the whole time and you freeze to death, here it was a little warm.
We sat at a table with a cousin I haden’t seen since I was a kid and there strangers now but it was nice to get reaquanted. Also my niece from my sister that I haden’t seen for years.
Yesterday they were all busy with wedding preprations so my sister and I walked to a nearby, good sized church.
Tomorrow my sisters and my flight times are close enough togethar that were going to take the MAX commuter train togethar to the Portland airport.
“there are no rivers in Southern California.” V8, how about the Los Angeles, San Gabriel and Rio Hondo rivers. You didn’t say they had to have water in them. Sounds like you are having a nice time in Oregon. You didn’t miss much down here.
The power company shut down our power for two hours this morning. Notice said up to 8 hours but I’ll take the two and be grateful. No need for generators or buying ice.
Got my pool filter cleaned out yesterday with the help of my son. Pool looks good now. Been so hot lately, I’m tempted to jump in but water is still too cold.
We celebrated oldest son’s 50th birthday yesterday with pizza, ice cream and cake and gifts. Recently graduated grandson is going to Disneyland today as part of his reward for being an alter boy for the past several years. I here the regular price over there is $99 now. I haven’t been in years. Haven’t even seen the newer California Adventure section yet. I think the place would be a lot different if Walt was still alive.
Going to caregiver meeting tomorrow and will take my wife where she will attend a companion meeting for the patients. It’s like a day care for adults. They play games, sing, excercise and even have lunch depending on what time you go. She will just be there for two hours while I go to my meeting. They do that for free. People who stay all day have to pay. Whole deal is part of the Senior Center.
Took wife to dental appointment around noon and we had a nice lunch after at a local deli. I had a great Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with steak fries and cole slaw. Wife had a turkey melt. It was all real good and washed d
I’ve been working on my railroad. All the live long day. It’s been super-dee-duper humid the past month, and it’s played havoc on my ten year old tubuar track layout. Read on another thread where someone used CRC 2-26. Well after working it into the rails and joiners, connections jumped to life. I have a Lionel bay-window caboose whose lights flicker around the layout. Wiped the center rollers with CRC, and steady as a blow torch now. Good stuff.
Good evening all,
Quiet day at work. Lousy weather for walk. Not much else going on. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
June already. Wow.
Got a deal on a 17’ canoe with a sail and outboard this weekend. Could care less about the outboard. Looking forward to getting it out on one of the local rivers - the smooth, shallow, slow one that is not too far away.
There was a car show at the courthouse this weekend. There was some interesting stuff there, like a '68 GTX done up gasser style with a solid front axle and a sky high stance, a very nice track ‘T’ that was powered by a four cyilnder something, and a '59 ElCamino powered by a 348 tri power ‘W’ engine. There was an early 60’s Covair window van that took 3rd place in the early 60’s stock class. I got there at the end of the show. It was kind of neat watching them fire up and drive off. A '72 Monte Carlo that had been entered in the ‘stock’ class didn’t sound very stock when it drove off - I don’t remember and of them coming from the factory with lumpy idles.
I stopped at the LHS and picked up the latest Lionel catalogs. I notice that there is now a mail car for the Polar Express. I’ll have to order one.
About all for now.
Rainy and in the 50’s now…
Fife-Have at it…lol!!
RT - Prayers for your boss/friend
[angel] for those in need
Talked to Princess last night, looks like since the ex is getting hitched in December, she’s not renewing the apartment lease, so her and her BF are getting their own place. Being the nosey Dad I am, I found the place they are looking for and it is in a nice area, the price is right and the amenities are good. They want a fireplace and a 3rd story view. $800 for a 1 bed. Not bad. I hate that she’s being robbed of her young adulthood, but there is nothing I can do from here.
I’m going to pre qual for a mortgage this month, since I am now eligible. The garage and the basement/attic are a requirement…
To rent or to buy, that is the question…
Back to the grind!
