I’m going to put one of these on my N scale layout, with a siding running up to it. It will be on an incline. Does anyone know of any real world examples of this? Just curious.

Why do you want the track above ground level?
You may want to get a gondola car or two and fill it with ‘scrap metal’ - take tin foil (from the kitchen), spray paint some spots, cut it into strips, and run them through the blender. Then clean out the blender - a milkshake fortified with tin foil, on fillings, HURTS ! The beat-up pieces of tin foil look like smashed-up metal. These can be glued into the gondolas.
You may also want a flat car or two, put very old automobiles, detailed as junkers, on as their cargo.
Somewhere in the General Discussion forum is a thread of goofy business names. The one you may like is a place called TOTAL FABRICATION. They deal in scrap metal and recycle old parts.
In Columbus, GA we have a real Junk/recycle yard with a spur running into it. They only bring gondolas in to load stuff out. The dirt in the area is almost covering the tracks, There have been times they had to dig out some dirt near the rails so the train can come in. I will try to get a picture of this tomorrow or the next day.

instead of a raised track why dont you put the junkyard in a valley and have a trestle come off the end of the hill over the junkyard? If you’re modeling flatlands that could be a problem though.
