“Bought it on E-Bay from a club track and it was a kite bash, main word is bash!” Rubber hose for drive shaft but had a good motor in it. Make racket and would short out the MRC 9500. I was given a full refund then Darth stepped in when I asked him for is help.
Tonight Darth I finaly got the Kadees on it and with the new center gears shorts are gone, quite and pulled it’s first drag. I am up to 20 cars up a 2% grade and have yet to find its limt. Just let you know how much I like it, Big Boy is sitting on a spur!
This one just may go DCC with sound, sure will not me MRC at this point.

The engine
Darth all so painted the correct colors on the grab rails and added the missing shocks to the trucks.
By the way Darth, what kind of motor is in the engine again?

Make that 26 cars with heavy weight cars on the front so there is no string. Still no wear near what it can pull, only at 33% thottle and moving around 50 sMPH.

The motor is an early Proto Power West tan can motor. They don’t make it anymore, but it’s still a very good motor.
Just thought I let you know how it was going with the junker. Have ran into a problem it started picking a turn out. Will check the flange’s with the gauage and checked for more broken center gears.
It will out pull my Big Boy I will add.

Up to 33 cars on the DC line and just keeps pulling up the 2% grade. Motor is pulling a mer .20 of a amp and 8 volts by the MRC 9500 at apx 50 sMPH. I hear a little spinng of the wheels on a 18" turn but a little more weight in the engine will take care of that.
Problem was yet another bad gear, guess the FP-45 trucks had some miles on them.

Mike it looks better now, that was pre Darth work PIC’s. I will add that it has now made it up to 42 cars then I started having some gondlas stringed but engine was still pulling strong.
