Having owned and collected Marx Toy Trains since the late 60’s, I took time off and left the fold for the last 15 years. Getting my feet wet again was easy with the advent of ebay. I have always had the gift of finding the most needy trains and “won” a set listed as a 14968. The antisapation of waiting was like being 10 yrs old again. When it arrived my grandson had the privilege to unwrap and open the box. His eyes were as wide as mine. It didn’t run but that didn’t hamper our connection as we put the rolling stock to work making sure the wheels were set on the track right and moved freely over the rails I’ve since gotten the 490 running and with a few more winning bids have acquried the right cars to make it that complete set it once was. I’ve been smitten again by Marx and that excitement.yes you can go home again.
Thats great! Welcome to the board. There are less Marx guys than Lionel here I think, but still we all appreciate Marx stuff. I like the prewar tin Marx 8 wheel cars with the only way couplers myself. Have fun.
I’m lionel myself but have had marx’s and there accessories on my layouts of the past (don’t have one right now) and if I see item I like I will again probally if I find at the right price the big girrard station again it will be on the new layout . (I sold a lot of item both marx’s and lionel when I moved this last time
Isn’t getting a train in the mail great? It is about as close as you can get to Christmas.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum.
