Just a thought for the makers of garden railways [8)]

I think that when you feature a railway in the Mag, you should include the minimum switch radious.

Does any one agree?[?]

Explain your reasoning.
I personally think they should have all the wheels on the track, not show trains jacknifed, have headlights on, show RED for occupied tracks, and not call Pola kits “scratchbuilt”.
Since I don’t use brass sectional, I generally look at the pretty pictures using sharp curves and TALL rail and turn the page.
TOC

We already do this (and have been for many years)! It’s listed in the “railway at a glance” box we provide for each railway featured.

I don’t understand why anyone would just follow " layout" as such, why? surely you would engineer your tracks to suit your available space and the natural problems and benefits you have available.

I personally use the “Rule Of Thumb”, the largest possible switch , however if you can only use the smallest switch size that is what you have to do. Mainline out back is Aristo-Craft’s largest size in availabe the year 2000 #6 I believe and the smaller size switces off the mainline.

thats not what i mean.

i would djust like to know what switching angle the featured rail ways use.
