Sure has been a long time since I’ve posted, just saw the new RMC site, figured I’d better check good ole MR too.
It’s gotta be a good sign when both leading RR mags have their sites up and running, this hobby has grown so fast it’s hard to keep up these days.
As for local prototype news, a new ethanol plant has been built along the NS branch that runs through the small town I live in, and train traffic has increased dramatically. We averaged 2 trains a day from Muncie to Dunkirk, grain and glass making loads coming and going, now it is up to at least 4-5 a day. Looking forward to seeing some unusual locos running through town soon. NS is pretty, but a little color never hurts. And I still don’t have good pics of the new BNSF scheme.
As for my modeling, this last weekend we bought 3 Lifetime plastic…well, I think they call them someting fancier, but plastic gets the idea across…6’ tables, next weekend I plan to attach foam bases to them and start scenicing…scenicking…putting green stuff on them. The tables took my weakest area - benchwork- out of the mix, and with different sizes available, a layout can be built to about any design. I’ll let you know how it actually goes, so far, all is theory.
Hope all of the old crew I used to chat with are doing well, and I hope to check in here a bit more than I have been doing.
Is the coffee shop still open?
