Just expanded site, in need of pics

Hey guys. I just expanded my Steam Locomotive website, www.freewebs.com/steamfans . I now have room for all kinds of pages on locomotives. Problem is I have no pictures of any of these locomotives. I need pics of Milwuakee Road #261, CP #2816, Cotton Belt #819, ATSF #3751, SP #4449, UP #844, SP Cabfowards, UP Big Boys, and Pennsy Duplexs. If you have any of these, I’d greatly appreciate it if you let me use them. I know I’m really not supposed to adverstise here, but I guess it’s not really advertising. I really need these pictures.

Thanks,

Jonathon[8D]

Jonathon, sorry I do not have any photos for you but you gave me an idea to document the building of my lauout. Visited your website, it will be a nice as it grows up.

Need pix of 1225?

I have pics of 1225 from you, Jay. LOL

I have a few pics of Project 819, however it shows the boiler jacket off while they hydrostatically test the flues. It has stacks of paint and firebrick around the cab and additional hardware around it as they work on it down in Pine bluff. Do you want em?

819 cab

819 Firebox

819 tender

819 wheels

Hi Jonathon
I can help you with 2816, I have soooo many pictures of it from this summer it’s almost embarrasing. What sorts are you looking for, and how many? I’m going to model it when I get some spare time, I just bought an undecorated BLI Hudson that I’m going to detail, it may not be exact but she’ll be close. I just got a proper elesco feedwater heater for it(the one on the BLI is practically invisible). I know a guy who did one so I’ll be picking his brains for paint and decal selections !!!

Higssy,

Thank you for your patronage! I need one of it running, maybe one of it sitting, and maybe another running shot. Thanks! You can email them to me at jhotdog10@yahoo.com

I have shots of Big Boy 4012, I’ll send them when I get a chance.

HighIronBar, I could use those shots of 819 getting restored too. Very neat pictures!

Thanks!, I will have updated pics after our April Show. The darn thing is so far away and it is a drive to get to it.

I had others but they kind of died on the camera because I had too much coffee or something; got shook too much.

Hello HighIron
Can you tell me a bit more about #819, the pictures look very interesting. I’ve always wanted to be involved in a restoration.

Well, she was built during the War years in Pine Bluff Arkansas, her territory included the old Cotton Belt Railroad. It was run regular in railfan trips until the need to restore her came up. The shop is engaged in (as of April 2003) testing each and every tube in that boiler. Firebrick in sufficient quanity was made availible to redo that box 5 or so more times into the future.

The wheels, cylinder and rods are in good shape. It is hoped to run the engine again in the future, there is alot of talk and hearsay going around that the UP which controls most of the trackage in the area may not allow the engine to be run, but what can I say it’s way over my head.

Perhaps another person who is on these forums with a closer access to the engine can tell us more with updated information.

Higgsy, your pics of 2816 and 4012 are on the site. Great pics and thanx for sharing!

Jonathon
No problem, I’ll send you a few more of 2816 when I get a few minutes, I’ve been busy the last couple of days. Hopefully #819 gets going soon and UP allows her to run. I’d like to see some more pictures of the restoration if at all possible.
Thanks
