A lot like postwar lionel but seems like they have more things covered. Between the two of those you have all the info one could need on postwar stuff. enjoy!
This site is little more than a thinly disguised self-promoting promo/sales site by someone selling stuff that is for the most part in the public domain or can be answered better right here on this forum.
Fifteen pages of train related books, price guides, videos, DVD’s, magazines and catalogs… sold by Amazon.com, which pays Tandem Associates a fee for each “hit” to the Amazon.com website.
There, you have to “buy” the information, which on the JWTrains website is “free”, other than the repair manuals.
The numerical listing (with photos) of postwar Lionel locomotives, tenders, operating cars and accessories, as well as the bulb chart, makes it an excellent reference site.
That’s a different link. No ads - just a Lionel Postwar reference. I was hard pressed to find advertising at all. “JW” is all about selling service lit.
It is simply not true that Amazon pays referral fees for 'hits." They only pay when an item is purchased. And the amount that is paid is minuscule. If we’re lucky, what is paid to us covers our connection cost to the internet. This hardly makes up for the time spent in creating and formatting these hypertext pages, not to mention the graphics and listing them according to the purpose of the publication. We have created these pages because our visitors have requested them.
There is only one advertisement on our site and it is on our home page. We felt that it was important enough to list a link to Amazon about the items that are available here concerning the emerging “Green Technology.” Other advertisers who have requested placing ads on our pages have been turned down.
We have a certain amount of pride by keeping our site free of advertising.
The earlier comments were referencing the initial main page mentioned in the first post ( http://www.tandem-associates.com/index.htm ) which has links to advertised products.
Another comment referenced this page… http://www.tandem-associates.com/lionel_index.htm, which, in addition to excellent “free” reference material about Lionel products, also has links to advertised products.
