… to Kalmbach for creating these forums for us, and to Bergie for so deftly maintaining them. I check in quite often through the day (arriving at work in the morning, usually at lunch and on breaks too), and reading others’ comments on so many disparate topics is a blast!! Best of all, it’s free!!! Heck, sometimes it’s so much fun I’d even pay to be here (but don’t get any ideas!).
I agree this forum is run pretty well and serves the model RR community nicely.
Given the number of people on here, it runs exceptionally well, with very few incidents where Bergie has to step in and take charge.
As mentioned in other topic threads, a software upgrade is long overdue, however. I’m in the web business as part of my day job and it appears to me the technology in use here dates to about 1997 or so. Eight years is an eternity in the web technology world.
Hear, hear!! This is an important part of my day (just ask She), and I give whole- hearted credit to the folks at Kalmbach for providing it. [^][tup][yeah]
Just the other night my eldest son, who was looking over my shoulder, commented that he was amazed to find no flaming or bad language on this Forum. A far cry from what he comes across. And from what my wife tells me you don’t want to venture onto American Idle as it is a haven for bigots and Flamers.
So once again Thank You Bergie for maintaining a respectful and tight ship!
Kalmbach, Bergie and company are doing a terrific job of keeping these forums healthy. We also need to thank our fellow railroaders, who almost always show respect for each other. It’s the entire community of hobbyists that deserves our appreciation. I’m sure even the American Idol forums would be civil if everyone who posts there were as polite and knowledgeable as our members.
Same here! My daily forays into the various threads on this forum are directly responsible for the progress on my new layout. And this is the friendliest forum of any kind that I have frequented. Thanks to all!
Terry
Absoluitely!!! I have learned a great deal here and find the atmosphere one of good humor and good modeling. Thanks Bergie and Model Railroader for this forum!
Amen to all that and I would like to add a tip of the hat to all of the posters. Everyone is helpful and knowledgable and as polite as can be possably expected. Thanks to all.
