Just wondering what every one models

Hey
I was just wonering what every one here models, Road, Era,
I model mostly modern rail roading I started modeling UP, and i will probably continue as like a secondary railroad, but I think Im going to start to Model BNSF, over the last couple of years they have kinda grown on me, plus that way I can model SF and BN also.
I am also going to model Some of my favorite steam engines and use them in mostly fan fair type stuff.

Hi. I freelance with some NYC, PRR, TH&B, and UP so far. I go for what I like in steam, and they are a hodgepodge, so I can’t really claim to “model” anything. One thing I don’t model is fun. I get lots of that, in real time, on my layout.

I model Burlington Northern and its predecesors the Great Northern, Northern Pacific and the CB&Q. Also have some Milwaukee Road too.

This gives me a chance to model many different roads that I enjoy in different eras.

My layout is a fictional Montana near Great Falls.

Since my layout is a generic rural-agricultural theme I can pretty much run anything I want to, from BNSF (my dad’s main RR) to Alaska (one of mine many ones) and everything inbetween.

This question comes up often. I’m modeling a freeelance railroad- illinois central. Now you might say that’s not a freelance beacause the IC really did exist (until 1998). But i’m modeling in in the exact present. I use the real IC’s paint scheme- DEATH STAR. The freelance IC Ry. is a midwestern line primarily hauling grain and intermodal containers and trailers. We have BNSF trackage rights and BNSF has IC ry. trackage rights. Freelancing is lots of fun.

Norfolk Southern ,along with steel mill switchers. Speaking of switchers,my next kit-bash o-rama,will be a CN sweep locomotive. Painted with the dragon river steel logo, for work in the mill.

This locomotive on the kit-ba***able and some other projects as well. I might have too many hands in the cookie jar,but at least I won’t get bored.

I’m an N scaler. As for what I model, that depends on what mood I’m in… Most of what I have is Santa Fe (pre-BNSF), but also some Southern Pacific, Union Pacific and Western Pacific. Sometimes it’s the steam era of the 1930s, while at other times it’s modern diesel. I built my layout so that it’s versitile and can be changed around from one era to another in a matter of minutes.

Union Pacific, MRL, and BNSF in the Pacific Northwest!!!

On my soon-to-be-started new layout will be Soo Line of the early 80’s(mine) and C&NW of the early 90’s(my son’s).Setting will be midwestern. No steam or passenger trains, thank you.Pure Diesel Freight operations.

Have a good one.

I do the ICRR in the mid 1940’s through the late 1960’s, as far as what place? Well i just used my imagination, and did some different towns rolled into one.

New Haven - the only choice.

The Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western is a freelance figment of my imagination set in the Finger Lakes region of New York State in August of 1925. Photos can be seen here: http://home.rochester.rr.com/howmus/

I model the Maine Central from Rigby Yard (So. Portland,ME) to St Johnsbury, VT. The line was know as the mountian division. The layout focuses on the Portland waterfront, the massive paper mill at Cumberland Mills, the climb thru the NH white mountains and St. Johnsbury, VT.

Layout is based on operations on Nov 5th, 1976.

Free-lanced anthracite road, circa 1910 (RDG, Erie, et al)

I’d walk a mile, and back, for a camelback!

I use the Southern/NS plus CSX on a freelance industrial switching layout fictionally located somewhere near Jacksonville, Fl. Thus no mountains or canyons, just flat Florida landscape. And since we barely have any winter down here I don’t have to worry about what season it is.
