K-Line Racing Sets

The thread on slot cars has given me an idea. There is a huge potential for taking their Superstreets and turning them into slotcar tracks. Any thoughts?[?]

It’ll work as long as you use a power chassis designed for Superstreets and don’t expect breakneck speeds. The slotting and power strip arrangement with Superstreets is completely different than with larger scale slot cars such as Scaletrix so you would have to do some major surgery to those types of slotcars.

Looking back on it, I understand the complexity of it. The vehicles would have to be modified so they can fishtail into the curves and at the same time provide power to the rear wheels. The curves will need to banked not to mention be broader. However I still see the possibilities.[:)]

Oh, but they’d be fun on the straight aways! Probably could do something with a little “Kitbashing”, but as mentioned, turns would be interesting.

Slotcars tyically use magets to hold them to the track via the power strips.

I looked at the SuperStreet catalog. The track has rails and the the cars have steel wheels with flanges. It would not surprise me if they ran on tworail track. I would say they are more train than slot cars. Try using a slot car set and make yor own crossing…

This is the difference.

It sure looks like three rail to me. You have to remember you are looking at a one to two lane comparison. Is that a 1/32 scale car? Nice picture, Real Nice car! My slot car roots.are tingling.

Yes, the car is 1:32 scale.
