K3238 Semi-Scale K-Line Hudson

I recently picked up a K-Line K3238 semi-scale hudson at an estate sale and had a few questions on what origionally came with it when new.

Did the train come with crew, an engineer or brakeman?

What is the black plastic three step “T” that is 2.5 by 2.5 inches for?

Did the train come with any paper work or a manual? Can I get a reprint if it did?

There was a bag of extra marker lights, traction tires and smoke fluid. Are they just spars? How long will the current ones last bfore they burn out? How easy are they to replace?

Anything I need to know about the smoke fluid I put in the train? Can I use any smoke fluid?

Can you post pitchures of what you have? it could help.

On the smoke don’t put too much fluid in it. Start out with like 3 drops and run it see how it goes.

Give these guy some time and bet you get your answers.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a train that will run on three drops of smoke fluid, I normally start out with 7-8 and work from there. Some of the modern ones want a LOT more.

Starting with too little fluid you risk charring the wick, that will require you to open it up and repack with new wicking. If you get too much in, it’ll be messy. I don’t know of a single model where 7-8 drops would be too much.
