Kadee #205 Coupler Height Gauge--level?

I put together, per the instructions, the Kadee height gauge. The #5 coupler that goes in the top slot fits fine and is screwed into place. But it seems to me that the coupler itself slopes down a slight amount. If I run my eye along the top of the gauge and then to the center line mark of the coupler the coupler definitely slopes down. The pin height is perfect in reference to the foot plate. There is just this slight slope. Is this normal? Or should I bend the coupler up?

Look for a bit of flash or a burr on either the coupler or the gauge casting.

I have 2 Kadee gauges, the old style with a peened on cover, and a newer one with a screw. Both sit level to the gauge.

Just checked mine and the coupler sets level. The top of the coupler shank is even the full length with the top of the gauge. Ken
