Kadee #58 scale coupler

Why are the clubs out west banning them, whats the trouble. I have them on locos and freight cars(89’to '50). I have had no trouble. They look great and they make big difference in the way the locos and cars look.

The club that belong to has not banned them nor have a heard of any club banning them. In our club we haven’t had problems with verticle misalignedments because we are a bunch of retentive *** when it come to rolling stock standards.

I also run some long cars with the #58 couplers and have only had a couple of problems with some low spots with my track that I had not noticed. They seem to be less tolerant of vertical miss alignments. I just solved the low spots and have nor had any more trouble.
I also noticed that the gathering range for relible coupling is less. This could be why some clubs band them.
