Notice that the arched road name includes the comma following “Gulf” – one of the neat characteristics of the GM&O.
Wow impressive model
I have the MKT car and it is impressive with the moving frame. But under model railroad operation it is unlikely to see the car’s cushion frame operate. Its a little expensive but it is the type of car that you have to have one. If anything just to marvel at Kadee’s engineering.
Sorry. Seems like a bit too much. Do I really need a boxcar that has a sliding sill and cushioned underframe? After all I am not really transporting “bottled and canned goods, glass, roll paper, and similar heavy products that are easily damaged”. For $34.95 I can buy 3 boxcar models and detail them up with weathering and grab irons. Just a bit to pricey for me.
I agree with John Buckley from Florida. Also, I do not care for the coupler sticking that far out past the end of the car. It changes the swing of the coupler on curves and in tight switching operations causes problems. Something more to give problems down the road? I think so.
i had the chance to see the underframe in action at the kadee booth at trainfest this year, and i would have to say that it is a wonderful advancement in the hobby! the detail on the car is also some of the best i have ever seen.
