I just realized that I promised to get back to my earlier thread about what Kadee recommended for Rivarossi 60’ (shorty) passenger cars. Sam at Kadee reccomended the gearbox/coupler assembly #451.
I wasn’t sure of the date of manufacture for my cars so had to verify this with them Kadee’s site and help is excellent as always.
No…just operator error on top of a long boat trip. I always get right back to you all, but this time, between the vacation, some family medical concerns, and the number of threads I participate in, I simply forgot to respond to this one!
I also thought I’d wait until the couplers arrived and I tried them before responding, but I wanted to get back to you all sooner than that.
I’ve got 8 #451 assemblies coming so we’ll see. It’s going to be my lst coupler replacement job ever. So the assemblies should be an easy way to get my feet wet. I’ve also got a bulk order of #148s coming so I’ll learn the rest of the procedures.
Rich. This is an operations based layout (hopefully with full sessions in the near future) so I need delayed coupling action to push strings of cars into stub sidings and hidden trackage. I’ll try to use only skewers but I think I’ll need a couple of between track magnets too.
I’ve clicked email me replies so I don’t forget again [:$]
Well I was part right, about the vacation anyway,Hope the medical concerns, turned out well…Everything here has been, as usual young men, middle age men and old farts, like myself, playing with trains…Have fun with the conversions…
