Kansas City Metro LHS listings

I’m settling in finally in my new residence in the Kansas City metro area. I’m a fanatical model railroader and I’m interested in locating all the best MR LHS in and around the KC metro area. I’ve tried online searches but I get such a mixture until I can’t tell who’s trains and who’s basket weaving. Gas is too pricey to run all over God’s creation checking stores. Can you all help me out?

Second of all, I’m looking for a MR club to join, preferably on the west side of KC. I heard there may be one in Lawrence near my new home. Any suggestions and points of contacts from you fine folks on the forum?

Information gleaned from the hobby shop listings in the back of Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman magazines are very limited:

Doc’s Caboose, Inc., 1400 Union Avenue, Kansas City, MO 816-471-7114 www.docscaboose.com

None listed for the Kansas side of the border, and Doc’s is the only one listed in Missouri.

There is J’s Hobby Haven on Johnson Dr in Mission and Hobby Haven on Metcalf Drive in Overland Park next to Hooters

Ch

may want to go to the show at union station on the 23-24.
