On the note of loco modification, does anyone know about the Kaslo Shops products? I hear they make excellent pre-made gp9u and gp9rm shells. I can’t find where to order them, and where I did find one listing, (out of stock) it was for $100! $10 more expensive than the whole Proto 2000 gp9 itself! Anyone know where I could find a cheeper one or where I could find one at all?
Thanks
Trr sending them a email. Link on this site:

Some Kaslo shells do show up on ebay. I was very interested in Kaslo’s SDP40F kit but by the time I was ready to buy one, they were already gone so now I have to resort to checking on ebay.
Yes, you need to order when items are planned for production. I’m not sure about what process Kaslo uses, but many resin parts are cast in molds that wear out after so many parts are cast in them. Once they’re done, you have to go through the process of producing molds again from the masters. So Kaslo’s runs are, like many resin kit mfgs, limited for that reason.
I happen to have a couple of Kaslo’s SDL39 kits. Planning to build them as mythical Rio Grande units – someday.
Thanks. I’ll look on ebay. I’m pretty confident in cutting up a gp7 and doing a gp7u, but if Kaslo does it in a kit, thats even better!
