Hi,I’m new and have a very limited knowledge of Ho.I want to know if anyone has any idea where to purchase a Kato Alaska loco.Been on the internet for days.Can anyone help?I have lionel since 5 years old with the bullet trans. but now at 65 years young it’s time to sell and switch.I’m a dinasour.Thank you . Welcome to HO and to the forum.
Because there is such a huge variety of models and liveries produced today in HO, they tend to be limited runs. Apparently these were released in 2003 and have not been re-run (and might not ever be). So the best hope to find one is through re-sale sites and groups such as eBay or HO Interchange (among many others).
Patience is a virtue with tracking down these older runs of products. They will eventually pop up.
Note that Athearn also released a similar model painted for Alaska. These are also sold out at retailers today, but show up on the resale sites.

There are a few Atlas Alaska RR on e bay, they are great runners also and comparable with Kato. Jim
