The Kato bilevel cars come with the Kato installed couplers and the way they are installed/mounted seem to be incompatible with changing them out to any other couplers such as Walther’s Proto Max or Kadees. There is no draft gear box or anything for the couplers to attach to. The Kato engines such as the F40ph or SD70MAC all can be changed though with other brands of couplers but not the commuter cars unless im assuming they will need heavy modification.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on changing out the couplers. Pics would be welcome as well
