Gees I just tried to unscrew the coupler pocket screws on my first Kato engine, their recently released SD45 and they were increadibly difficult to get off!! I thought I’d break the shell to get the things removed. I broke 2 miniature screwdrivers in the process. Anyone else have funny (but not so funny) experiences with their modeling projects?
Exactly the same as you on a couple of occasions, and seeing as I only have 3 Kato locos l’m not doing too well.
I’ve also had a problem with a new Proto 2000 SD45 and the ‘hidden’ body screw, finally located under the long hood bogie, but only after trying every combination of undoing all the screws in sight. It doesn’t help when the instructions tell you not to unscrew the brass screws and all the screws are blackened!
