Kato HO RS2

I know there is a posting for removing the body for a KATO NW2 on this forum. How specifically does the KATO body mount? The RS looks like it has four attachment points that are push in tabs with “hooks” on end-is this it? My eyes are obviously not what they used to be and I tried these four points to no avail; don’t want to push this approach if I’m mistaken re body mounting. I agree with posting response re KATO body mounting-definitely seem to be designed to survive a nuclear event. Appreciate any guidance re removing body without having to go nuclear. [:D]

This happens to be one engine I don’t have box and paperwork for so I don’t have manufacturer’s exploded view.

Thanks,

Jon

Squeeze the shell at those 4 points with all your might and pull and wiggle…itll come off (remove the couplers first).

David,

The four attachment points I was writing about are aligned such that wiggling side to side probably wouldn’t do squat. But with my eyes maybe I’m reading attachment points wrong. I’ll give it a try. Failing that I can always write a letter to the Atomic Energy Commission and apply for an exception to normal usage. [8D]
