I am having problems with my N scale Kato KCS Sd70ace were the front bogey keeps falling out. I have stripped it down and reseated it back in again but it still falls out. Has any one else had the same problem and how did they rectify it. I am in Australia and I brought of MB Klein it is not there fault other wise I have to send it back to Kato for repair.
Just thought I’d jump in here… The Kato truck design on the SD70ACe is prone to falling out easily and, once out, must be placed in precisely for it to engage fully. More than likely there is no fault with the model, and you just need to seat the truck properly into the gear box. In some cases I have completely disassembled the frame to get the trucks back on… Easy stuff. Have fun!
I am having the same problem with my Kato N-scale SD70ACe which I received in the mail yesterday. The front wheel set fell out the first time I took the loco out of its box, and it continues to fall out unless I put my hand underneath to hold it in place. Worse yet, the loco doesn’t want to run, either forward or in reverse, until I turn the speed way up and give it a nudge. I wander if this problem is related to the wheel set falling out. I’m frustrated and disappointed with this loco.
