Kato USA announced on Twitter that they are “releasing a new N scale locomotive later this year” and followed it up with a “teaser” pic which looked like this:

One can safely assume Kato is releasing Amtrak’s Siemens ACS-64, their newest fleet loco, which runs on all non-Acela trains on the Northeast Corridor.
Kato will make the official announcement on Monday with a release date.
I saw that at the Amtrak Train Days exhibit while on my layover at Chicago Union Station.
The set is already for pre-order today. The set will include ACS-64 #601, 3 Amfleet I coaches and cafe. And another two pack set each of two coaches, one coach and cafe.
Arguably the bigger deal in the set (at least if Brooklyn Locomotive Works’ road # info is accurate) is that Kato is releasing Amfleet I cars. They would be useful for modeling many trains outside the NEC.
AMFLEET 1!!! YESSS!!! Gonna start selling my Bachmanns now!
