TO MEMBERS OF THE FORM, DOES ANYONE OUT IN THE FORM KNOW HOW I CAN REMOVE THE PRINTERS BLACK INK OFF OF THE KATO NW-2 LOCOMOTIVES. I TRYED USING ELO BY BRUSHING IT ON AND WAITING THE PROPER TIME, AFTER WASHING IT OFF WITH WARM WATER IT AND DISH WASHING SOAP, IT CRUMBED APART. I EVEN CALLED KATO AND THEY COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT TO USE . THANK YOU milsu2043
If you are referring to removing the paint from the shell, I have had great success on Kato products, including one of my NW2s, using 91% isopropyl alcohol. (Strong rubbing alcohol). This is available at most pharmacies and some grocery stores. I have had no issues with plastic damage of any kind using this. Hope this helps.
You dont have to yell, we can hear you just fineā¦
To remove paint from Kato shells, some people have sucess with 90% rubbing alcohol. Be wary though, because it might melt the plastic.
Kato models are the most difficult shells to strip.
