I was looking at the Kto locomotives because I heard they were a good manufacturer and found a couple CP and CN’s.
1.CN GE C44-9W for $98.00
2.CP GE AC4400CW High NB<----what is High NB? for $105.00
3.CP EMD SD90MAC for 104.98
4.CP EMD SD-45 for $95.00
5.CN EMD SD-40-2 for $100.00
6.CP EMD SD-40 for $99.98
7.CP EMD GP38-2 for $59.95
Why is # 7 so cheap compared to the rest of them?
What one would you recommend to run alongside with my GP-9?
An SD40 or SD45 would be right. The SD45 was indroduced in the 60’s.
I have 3 CP AC4400CW’s and I got them for that price. If you look around you can find them cheaper. The AC4400’s and the SD90’s have plug and play decoder plugs, the rest need to be soldered in. I think HB is for High Number Board.
Is it a good deal to buy the AC4400CW for $65.00? And will this run with a GP-9?
That is a great price, are we talking HO or N scale here. The GP9 is an old locomotive that you don’t see very often on CN and CP’s main lines.
I am talking about N scale.[:D]
Its so cheap because that was in the very first run of N-scale locomotives ever done by KatoUSA, in April 1988. I’m not an N-scale modeler, but I would expect the only place you would ever find it would be on Ebay.
