Kato Unitrack Joined to Peco Code 80 Turnouts N Scale

I’m in the process of setting up Kato’s N Scale Unitrack on my layout with the Atlas Signal System designed to govern the main track. I really like Kato’s Unitrack, but I can’t set up the signal system the way I want with their turnouts. To solve this issue, I decided to use Peco Code 80 turnouts on the main track and Kato turnouts in the yard with all of the rest of the track being Unitrack. I’ve searched the forums and Googled this, but I can’t find any information on the compatibility between Peco Code 80 and Kato Unitrack. I plan on removing the Kato unijoiner where I plan to connect the Peco turnout. I assumed that I could use Peco rail joiners to connect the Code 80 Peco track with the Unitrack, which I assume is also Code 80 (Kato doesn’t necessarily specify this, but other’s have told me this). Will the Peco track connect perfectly with the Kato track, or will I have to do some modification?

You should post this on one of the N-Scale forums as you will get many responses. Some may even be helpful. [:D]

Kato makes a conversion track item# 20-045. I have used them to transition flex track to Unitrack N scale they work great.

All you have to do is pull the Uni-joiners and replace them with regular rail joiners. You may have to shim up the Peco turnout to match rail heights.

By the way ,this works for HO too.

Thanks.
