going to be starting ngauge layout in garage: what is the best way to attach kato superelevated track to plywood: small nails, screws etc.??
I’ve got a whole box of that stuff that I need to sell. All n-scale. I attached most of mine with caulk that was spread thin on the base. I personally wasn’t a big fan of their track as the #4 turnouts are not reliable. I had to modify 8 of the 16 that I had so trains wouldn’t derail going through them. People kept telling me Kato was perfect and that my issue was with my wheels. Actually my issue was only with those 8 turnouts as the rest were fine. I modified them and they worked great. I wanted to have more flexibility in track shape so I went with Peco Code 55 and used their flextrack. It looks better ballasted too. Now I’m switching over to O scale as I like the size. I need to see how much Kato I have that is sellable. Some of it has scenery/paint/ballast all over it and isn’t anything that I’d sell to anyone. Much of it though is perfect and I have most of the radiuses that were available. I only have a couple of turnouts that are sellable. If you are interested in the good components I’ll take a picture of what I’ve got left.
