Seems I have a little wiring problem on my hands. I have unitrack for my rails and did not snip the ends off the kato wiring stuff. I have the 3 way, 35" dc extension cords and the terminal adapter cord. My problem is that the pack has power when the terminal adapter cord is screwed to the pack, but when I hook up the feeder wires to this connection, it does not supply any more power. The only way I can get these to operate correctly is to snip the ends of the kato feeder line and screw the ends into the pack. Is there an extra piece I must have to use kato wiring without a kato powerpack?
Are you trying to put more than one wire to each terminal on the power pack? If thats the case than what you need is a “bus” wire. Only the bus actually connects to the power pack and then the bus parrallels the rails. Anywhere you need power to the rails is soldered to the bus instead of trying to put two connections right to the power pack. It sounds to me from your description that when you add the second connection you are getting a short. As long as you solder the correct feeder to the correct bus it should solve your problem and you can use any power pack.
thanks, it was a short. I had moved some track and must have reversed it when I put it back down and didn’t realize it.
