I think this article needs rewording or re-organizing. Pointing out it’ll be Kawasaki’s first foray into US HSR is one thing, but the paragraph placement kinda implies that Kawasaki’s lack of US HSR experience means it wouldn’t meet Amtrak’s requirement that Kawasaki has HSR experience - which it does.

Anyway, good luck to them.

That’s one weird ugly train, Benjamin!

Attention High Speed Train Shoppers. While it may be true that Kawasaki has not built any high speed trains in the USof A. Please see what they have done in Japan for high speed.

If anyone wants to get it on the cheap, go and ask the Chinese. Well they are not Alstom, Kawasaki or Siemens but “inspired” by them. And they come for far less money, incl. the infrastructure, if You don´t have it already. The Chinese also finance the whole thing, should the local governement be short on cash. Just like a car dealer.
Most recent example was Poland

Alas, where are Budd and Pullman Standard? Now it can only be foreigners who will benefit from this government boondoggle.
