Report from KCS Notes:
The KCS business train derailed at the Union Station in Kansas City
tonight around 8 p.m. or so. Bruce Hitchens called and said all the
cars are scattered with a lot of damage to cars and trucks. The wreck
is blocking Amtrak’s track at the station as well. Bruce said nobdy
was hurt, but that many onboard may not get home now till Christmas,
some having to stay and take care of the aftermath.
The business train had just left the station for Shreveport after
finishing its tour with the Christmas train. I understand that the
Christmas train cars were not attached to the business train at the
time of the derailment.
