KCS Locomotives

Today, I saw a pair of what appeared to be new diesels with the the Kansas City Southern de Mexico logo and paint scheme here in central Ohio. They looked brand spanking new. Could they have been in transit from the manufacturer to KCS? They were pulling a consist also.

Most likely, yes they were in transit from GE heading to the KCS.

Those are also in use at times on the Schneider National train from KC to Marion OH. Were they being chased by a string of pumpkins?

Very Good photo ! thanks for sharing, havent seen any yet in my locale…

Saw one last week in the Grand Island, Nebraska yard.

WR Tower in Granite City, IL…THe next crossing this train is going to cross is were I work!

We’re seeing 2 or 3 of those KCS-Schneider National trains through here a week on the tracks that run from St Louis to Indy.

I haven’t got any photos yet, but hoping to.

Can’t say I care for the connect the dots handrails but the rest is pretty sharp.

Its ScotchBrite reflective tape, barber poled around the hand rails on purpose.

If they were painted a solid color, it is easy to lose them against the locomotive at night…my railroad also barber poles our hand rails, only in white.

The broken pattern stands out quite well in a dark yard.

No pumpkins, just a mixed train.

The EB train runs Sat-Thur out of KC, so you should see it around indy the following afternoon. The WB train runs Mon-Sat out of Marion so you should see it WB the next morning.

As a newbie, I’m not sure if these photos have any relevance but they were taken about 3 weeks ago at a yard in Laurel, MT just West of Billings.
